Parliamentary Health Select Committee visit

Parliamentary Health Select Committee visit

The Commons Health Select Committee visited Blackburn with Darwen this week to look at how local government, health and Housing 21 are working closely together to improve the health and wellbeing of people in the borough.

The select committee MPs met with various groups from Blackburn with Darwen Council, Blackburn with Darwen Care Trust Plus, staff from Kingsway and Spring Bank Extra Care Schemes, members of the clinical commissioning group and carers from the Blackburn with Darwen Carers Service.

This was a great opportunity to showcase how Housing 21 works in partnership with a range of care and support providers to ensure not only our residents but the wider community can access services on our courts which include the Carers Service at Kingsway and the Healthy legs clinic based at Spring Bank Court.  This service provides support to older people preventing admissions to hospital and support, manage and prevent  some long term conditions.
