day care

Day care is available to older people who need some support during the day and would benefit from having these needs met away from home.

Provided at day care centres, our day care services offer you the chance to:

• learn new skills and hobbies
• join in social and creative activities
• meet new friends
• visit places of interest
• get advice and support on different issues.

Meals and refreshments are included and transport is arranged if required.

Application process

To apply for our day care services, your local social services department will assess your needs.
We can put you in touch with your local department.

In some areas, you can also purchase day care on a private basis if you do not wish to go through social services.

Cost

You will be asked to pay for or contribute towards the cost of your day care services. Your social services department will work out how much this will be.
