Housing 21 Dementia Voice

Housing 21 Dementia Voice is a dementia centre of excellence whose work challenges traditional thinking about the way dementia services are designed and delivered.

Our purpose is to:

  • develop and manage dementia service provision
  • conduct specialist research
  • provide training
  • offer advice services.

As part of an older people's housing and care provider our range of activity means we constantly feed our learning into practice.

Putting the person before the dementia is central to our approach. We focus on the individual's:

  • lifestyle
  • social and family network
  • circumstances and environment.

This approach has shown significant improvements in the quality of life of people with dementia and of those around them. It proves that with the right care, support and interaction people can keep or regain life skills and stay independent for longer.
