Home and day care
As a specialist home care provider, Housing 21 also provides person centred home and day care support for older people with dementia. Our day resource centre in Westminster - the Tresham Centre - is nationally recognised as a centre of excellence in dementia care.
In Westminster we also deliver the "Home Care Plus" service for older people with dementia. Home Care Plus delivers one-to-one person centred support and care and ensures that people with dementia can stay at home, retain their independence and maintain their quality of life. The service is flexible and responsive to what people want. If this means spending two hours talking to someone instead of doing the cleaning, or taking someone swimming because it encourages that person to shower and change their clothes, then that's a positive outcome. This approach allows people with dementia and their families to maintain, as far as possible and for as long as possible a good quality of life at home and in their community.
