About us

A proactive approach to diversity

Developing accessible services

A key element in our programme to develop truly accessible services is our work to support cross cultural understanding amongst our existing residents. One initiative to support this has been our programme of celebrating diversity with tenant forums which is successfully expanding awareness and understanding amongst the wider body of residents.

In Bradford we worked with the council and local community groups to develop an extra care scheme designed to meet the needs of minority ethnic groups. A key element of the scheme is the lunch club, day care and social activities provided by FACE, a local Afro-Caribbean community organisation.

In south London, in partnership with Age Concern, we offer advice services to Afro-Caribbean elders.

While our partnership with Bristol council has led to the development of an extra care scheme with some flats specially equipped for deaf residents. This has resulted in the successful integration of hearing and non-hearing residents and has become part of a Beacon Scheme.
